Blas Gonzalez enjoys a varied career as teacher, pianist, and composer. Educated in Argentina and the USA, Blas moved to New Zealand at the end of 2009. He has performed widely in USA, Argentina, NZ and Taiwan. 

Blas has enjoyed teaching appointments at Missouri Western State University, and the Community Music School at the University of Missouri-Kansas. His compositions have been performed by Aroha String Quartet, The Committee, Nelson Composers Workshop and harpist Helen Webby. His piece In The Threshold of Definition was awarded merit prize in the 2013 New Zealand Harp Society Composition Competition. 

He currently divides his time teaching both privately and as itinerant teacher in schools, working as an accompanist, and performing.
