Christine Kim is a flautist who successfully completed her Advanced Studies with Professor Mirjam Nastasi at Freiburg Musikhochschule in Germany. She also holds a Bachelor of Music First Class Honours and Master of Music under the tutelage of Professor Uwe Grodd at the University of Auckland School of Music.

Christine has won numerous scholarships and awards including, the 74th Annual Society of American Musicians Competition in the United States, 1st place in the University of Auckland Graduation Gala Concerto Competition, 2nd place and Best Woodwind in the Rotorua National Concerto Competition and 2nd place with her flute and piano duo at the Internationale Interpretationswettbewerb Verfemte Musik in Schwerin, Germany.

Throughout her career Christine was chosen to participate in numerous master classes with artists such as Marya Martin, Leone Buyse, Felix Renggli, Jean Ferrandis, Paul Edmund-Davis, Denis Bouriakov, Robert Aitken and Sir James Galway.

Since returning to New Zealand in 2013, Christine has been an active freelance musician, with a passion for teaching and a special love and knowledge of woodwind chamber music.
