Frank completed his Bachelor of Music and the performance components of an Honours year at the New Zealand School of Music in Wellington where he completed a jazz major on saxophone alongside a performance second study on classical clarinet. During his time there he was twice named woodwind player of the year, twice won the Jazz Combo Competition, gained the Therle Drake award for an outstanding performer and was a finalist in the Concerto Competition.

 Since completing his studies, he has gone on to perform around New Zealand and the world, being a member of the Rodger Fox Big Band including their tour of New Orleans and recording in New York, playing first clarinet for the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band and playing with the Air Force Jazz Orchestra. He has also twice toured Eastern Europe with the JM Jazz World Orchestra, including one year as saxophone section leader, and recording in Croatia's television studio in Zagreb. He has also taken his own quartet on a number of tours around the country and has a debut album set for release in late 2022.
