Yune-Sang Yune is a Korean-Kiwi flautist currently studying her Masters degree under the tutelage of Luca Manghi. Born in Seongnam, South Korea, Yune-Sang began learning the flute at the age of 9 and was immediately mesmerized by the warm silvery tone of the instrument.

Since then, Yune-Sang has emerged as a rising soloist with the St Matthew’s Chamber Orchestra, Manukau Symphony Orchestra, Love and Peace Chamber Orchestra and will be debuting with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra this October performing the Reinecke Flute Concerto in D Major. In recognition of her potential as a performer, Yune-Sang won numerous awards and titles including finalist of the 2023 Gala Concerto Competition, prizewinner of the Gisborne International Competition, Recipient of the 2018 Anne Tolley Award NZ Prize, first prize winner of the 2017 Tauranga Performing Arts Competition (TPACS) and 2017 Performing Arts Competition Association New Zealand making her an ‘National Young Performer.’

Yune-Sang's dedication and talent have been further acknowledged through various scholarships and grants she has received. Noteworthy among them are grants from the Taurus Trust (2023), George Hopkins Woodwind Prize (2023), Todd Trust Foundation (2022), and the Richard Giese Scholarship (2022). Additionally, she has been honored with the distinction of 'First in Music Performance' twice, in 2019 and 2022, for achieving the highest marks in music performance at the University of Auckland.

In her spare time, Yune-Sang can be seen salsa dancing and playing flute to her cat kiki.
